Everyone has the right to be treated with dignity and respect in aged care. The Aged Care Quality Standards define what good care looks like.
The Quality Standards are being strengthened and will be introduced with the commencement of the new Aged Care Act.
The existing Standards will remain in effect until then. The Commission has developed an extensive suite of resources on the Strengthened Quality Standards, including a guidance tool to help providers understand how the Standards will apply to their service.
Registered providers may need to meet the strengthened Quality Standards obligations based on their registration categories and the service types they deliver.
