Compliance monitoring update

An assessment contact was conducted by the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (Commission) on 11 February 2020 at Royal Freemasons Bendigo to monitor the service’s progress in meeting the Accreditation Standards. The Commission found the service complies with all Accreditation Standards.

Following a site audit the Commission made a decision on 11 November 2019 that this service met seven of the eight Aged Care Quality Standards. The service is re-accredited for two years until 18 December 2021.

Compliance monitoring update

An assessment contact was conducted by the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (Commission) on 26-28 February 2019 at Royal Freemasons Bendigo to monitor the service’s progress in meeting the Accreditation Standards. The Commission found the service complies with all Accreditation Standards.

Following an audit we decided that this home met 25 of the 44 expected outcomes of the Accreditation Standards. We decided to vary this home’s accreditation period. This home is now accredited until 18 December 2019.

Serious risk decision

Following a Review Audit conducted on 12 November 2018 to 23 November 2018, a decision was made that Royal Freemasons Ltd failed to meet 19 expected outcomes in the Accreditation Standards in relation to Royal Freemasons Bendigo.

On 2 January 2019 a delegate of the Commissioner made a decision that the failure to meet five of these expected outcomes has placed the safety, health or wellbeing of care recipients of the service at serious risk. The Department of Health has been notified of the risk.

Serious risk is not an ongoing state; it is a statutory decision based on evidence at a point in time.

The Commission will continue to monitor the performance of the service including through unannounced visits.

Following an audit we decided that this home met 44 of the 44 expected outcomes of the Accreditation Standards and would be accredited for three years until 05 April 2021.

This is a new home and is accredited for one year until 05 April 2018. We made the decision on 05 April 2017.
