Everyone has the right to be treated with dignity and respect in aged care. The Aged Care Quality Standards are a set of requirements that define what good care looks like. Providers and workers must deliver aged care services in line with the Standards.
The Quality Standards have been strengthened and the new Standards will take effect with commencement of the new Aged Care Act from 1 July 2025. The existing Standards will remain in effect until then.
The Commission has developed an extensive suite of resources on the Strengthened Quality Standards to help providers and workers understand how the Standards will apply to their service.
