Everyone has the right to be treated with dignity and respect in aged care. The Aged Care Quality Standards define what good care looks like. Providers and workers must deliver aged care services in line with the Standards.
The Quality Standards are being strengthened and will be introduced with the commencement of the new Aged Care Act.
The Commission has developed an extensive suite of resources on the Strengthened Quality Standards, including a guidance tool to help providers and workers understand how the Standards will apply to their service.
The existing Standards will remain in effect until then.
