The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission is aware of media reports regarding alleged delays in the provision of a report from the NSW Health Clinical Excellence Commission on Newmarch House.

This statement confirms that the Clinical Excellence Commission report on Newmarch House was not commissioned by or for the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission, and we had no part in its development or its release to Newmarch House or to Anglicare. 

From correspondence seen by the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission, we understand the Clinical Excellence Commission provided its report to Newmarch House management on Sunday 3 May 2020, and Newmarch House management provided it to the Anglicare CEO, Mr Grant Millard on Monday 4 May 2020.

The report details a high-level infection control review conducted at Newmarch House on 1 May 2020. 

The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission continues to fully exercise its regulatory authority to monitor the quality of care provided to residents in Newmarch House.
