Last updated

Our Compliance and Enforcement Policy has been updated to align with our Regulatory Strategy , the Supervision Model, and our renewed approach to compliance and enforcement with the current aged care legislation.

Our Compliance and Enforcement policy explains our regulatory approach and how we respond to non-compliance and risks to older people. Our approach recognises the rights of older people and protects and improves their safety, health, wellbeing and quality of life. The policy includes information on:

  • expectations of providers, governing persons and aged care workers
  • applying our regulatory approach and principles
  • monitoring and managing non-compliance through the Supervision Model and our regulatory powers
  • making good regulatory decisions
  • compliance and enforcement actions
  • transparency of compliance and enforcement activities.

The policy will be updated to reflect the Commission’s new powers that come into effect on 1 July 2025 under the new Aged Care Act.
