Following a site audit the Commission made a decision on 20 December 2019 that this service met all of the Aged Care Quality Standards. The service is re-accredited for three years until 16 February 2023.

Accreditation decision following site audit

Following a site audit the Commission made a decision on 16 August 2019 that this service met three of the eight Aged Care Quality Standards. The service is re-accredited for 6 months until 16 February 2020.

Following an audit we decided that this home met 14 of 44 expected outcomes of the Accreditation Standards. The audit was conducted on 13 March 2019 to 14 March 2019. The assessment team's report is attached.

A delegate of the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission made a decision on 16 April 2019 to revoke accreditation of this service. The period of accreditation of the service will expire on 16 August 2019.

Serious risk decision

Following a review audit conducted on 13 – 14 March 2019, a delegate of the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commissioner made a decision that Bupa Aged Care Australia Pty Ltd failed to meet 30 expected outcomes in the Accreditation Standards in relation to Bupa Eden.

On 17 April 2019 a decision was made that failure to meet two of these expected outcomes has placed the safety, health or wellbeing of consumers of the service at serious risk. The Department of Health has been notified of the risk.

Serious risk is not an ongoing state; it is a statutory decision based on evidence at a point in time.

The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission will continue to monitor the performance of the service including through unannounced visits.

Following an assessment contact conducted on 26 - 28 February 2019, a delegate of the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commissioner made a decision that Bupa Aged Care Australia Pty Ltd failed to meet 22 expected outcomes in the Accreditation Standards in relation to Bupa Eden.

On 13 March 2019 a decision was made that failure to meet two of these expected outcomes has placed the safety, health or wellbeing of a consumer of the service at serious risk. The Department of Health has been notified of the risk.

The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission will continue to monitor the performance of the service including through unannounced visits.

Following an audit we decided that this home met 22 of the 44 expected outcomes of the Accreditation Standards and would be accredited for one year until 27 February 2020.

Following an audit we decided that this home met 39 of the 44 expected outcomes of the Accreditation Standards. We decided to vary this home’s accreditation period. This home is now accredited until 27 February 2019.

Following a review audit conducted from 31 July 2018 to 10 August 2018, a delegate of the CEO of the Quality Agency made a decision that Bupa Aged Care Australia Pty Ltd failed to meet five expected outcomes in the Accreditation Standards in relation to Bupa Eden.

On 6 September 2018 a decision was made that the failure to meet one of these expected outcomes has placed the safety, health or wellbeing of care recipients of the service at serious risk. The Department of Health has been notified of the risk.

Serious risk is not an ongoing state; it is a statutory decision based on evidence at a point in time.

The Quality Agency will continue to monitor the performance of the service including through unannounced visits.

Following an audit we decided that this home met 44 of the 44 expected outcomes of the Accreditation Standards and would be accredited for three years until 23 March 2019.
